Week 2: Warnings

January 11, 2012

Touch these pretty puppies at your own peril! One my favorite things about  Arizona – cactus flowers! Click the image to get a closer view.

Took this yesterday (with my little Nikon Coolpix which has taken it’s last shot  – on the hunt for a new point and shoot) while waiting at the tee on the TPC Scottsdale, Champions’ (as if!) Course.  Shot a 94 – and considering it’s been almost two months since I’ve played, I’m not complaining!

Camera Data: handheld, focal length 9.1 mm, f/4.3, shutter speed 1/270, ISO 100.

On the happy occasions that we’ve been traveling in the southwest, the bright pretty flowers balancing on the edges of scarey spiky plants were quite a surprise. Nice job of the focus–for flower and spikes.

Didn’t know we had another golfer amongst us. Wish I was playing but it’s off season here in NJ.

Between AZ and CA we’re lucky to be able to play pretty much all year round!

I love that the beautiful blossom almost seems like its daring you to touch it! There are no blooms in my neck of the woods (Maryland). *sigh* I can’t wait until the summer.

Dem Cacti done able to look out for DeySelves. Wonderful. We replaced or dead Coolpix P&S with a later model s3100, it’s a ripper.

nice strong pink but dangerwarning for your fingeres at the same time. I know how easy it is to get one in a finger and how hard to get rid of

Seems like there are more than sand traps at the golf course – wouldn’t want one of those spikes where the ball lands… The little Nikon did a good job for it’s last fling – colour and cropping is also good

Condolences on the demise of your Nikon–hope you find a replacement that you enjoy as much. Great detail on the cactus!

Always seems like the prettiest of flowers appear on the most hideous of plants, doesn’t it? Very nice.
