Week 5: Kitchen

February 1, 2012

I’ve never considered myself artistic; in fact I spent my entire career on software system implementation, data analysis, planning, people management, organization – you know all those things that use the other side of the brain. But there is something about the “no rules”  mindset of mixed media and altered art that totally appeals to me and makes me feel like I can do it.  So, for the last several weeks we’ve been eating on trays in the family room because as you can see, the kitchen table is otherwise occupied.

Camera Data: Brought out the Canon xSi for this one: focal length 50 mm, f/5.0, shutter speed 1/60, ISO 400.

As a “Trained Jungle Killer” I empathize with your feelings. I had been trained to Kill Jungles not Paint, ergo I salute your courage at this new endeavour. Anyway Balance is important and thos trays can be tricky. LOL

One way or another, there’s creativity in each of us–we just how to find the best way to let it out.

Looks like you are becoming quite the artist…looking forward to you sharing what you have been painting!

Loving this post…just shared it with my husband.!!!! I have set up a table for my laptop in our den and sit on the couch to work. I have been slowly taking over the couch as I branch out with the “stuff” I want handy! You have just made me feel so much better about my infringement on our once shared space!

I like your subtle way of saying that you wouldn’t mind a room of your own in which to create at leisure, until then the kitchen table will remain unavailable.

I just love this image….conveys a real sense of activity….lots to take your eye through the picture but keeps coming back to rest on canvas at the front…great shot

That really looks like fun – and I’m another “left-brainer” (former tech writer; love coding PHP , CSS and HTML; love languages).

Sometimes when all that left brained stuff is no longer necessary, our right brain is able to slowly take over…..that’s what looks like is happening to you. Congrats on finding your creativity…..Love what this shot conveys!

I agree totally with all the above comments 🙂 Love your kitchen image, I have a tendency to take lots of our dining table for my different artistic stuff (our kitchen is so small we don’t have a table in it.
