Week 18: … in the details

This theme works on several levels.

First, I was smart enough to research the camera settings (before I went out to shoot) needed to capture a decent picture of this morning’s Super Moon.  I even thought to change the batteries in my wireless remote shutter release receiver.  However, it didn’t occur to me at all that there would be also be a battery in it’s transmitter! Rats! (Details, details, details!)

Even so, this is probably the best moon shot I have ever taken. I couldn’t see any clouds, but the sky seemed  a bit hazy and there weren’t many stars, which is very unusual since we live waaaaayy out in the boonies.

The other  details: Canon Rebel Xsi data: tripod ; lens EF70-300mm; f/16;  focal length 300mm; shutter speed 1/100; ISO 200. Oh – and the photo’s been cropped (duh)!

Aint that fun and great to learn new things about your equipment, there will be a partial eclipse soon and I bet that battery is replaced by then.

I’d say you worked the details out and captured some fantastic details in that moon! Awesome!
